Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. -1 Timothy 4:12
Vision
Our vision is to see God's Kingdom established in Loudoun County. We aspire to live Christ-centered, Kingdom-based lives. We desire to see the Gospel take root in schools, and to transform the youth of Loudoun County. We continually strive to be active followers of Jesus so we may be living examples of how God transforms lives.
If you would like more information, or to become involved, call our Vestry member in charge of Youth Discipleship, Pam Rogers at 703-574-2524.
What's Happening?
Senior High/ Young Life Senior High Youth meet every Sunday at 8:40am in the Mill Run Library for Confirmation Class with Pastor Clancy. All are welcome. We meet along with adults for worship at 10:00 at Mill Run Elementary. We also encourage our youth to get involved with the Young Life chapter at the High School nearest them. In Ashburn, Young Life happens at Stone Bridge High School. For more information, check out the link above.
Junior High/YEOW!/ WyldLife Junior High youth have our own Sunday School Class during worship on Sunday. We also meet as Youth Every Other Week on Sunday evenings at Elijah Gate Christian Fellowship at 120 Harrison Street in Leesburg. For more info on YEOW!, call Mark Pinkman at 703-431-8674. We have also partnered with Young Life's WyldLife program in Leesburg, which meets at the home of Pam and Jim Rogers on 637 Meade Drive, 703-574-2524. This means that every other week we'll be going to an alternate location for WyldLife from 7:30-9:00 PM. WyldLife is a fun program focused on outreach to Junior High students that includes fun, games and a Gospel talk.
Discipleship occurs throughout the year as well. Youth are encouraged to meet with older mentors for personal growth in Christ through one-on-one discipleship. More information about discipleship is available by calling Pastor Clancy at the church office (703-726-0777).
Upcoming Events
Re:Mix Mission Conference for Young Adults March 27-29 in Lutheridge Conference Center, near Asheville, North Carolina. College-age and Senior High are invited to come learn more about what God is doing all over the world and be equipped for ministry by Rock the World Youth Mission Alliance. Contact Ginger Nixon for more info.
Reach Workcamp Summer Mission trip You and your teenaged son or daughter are invited to prayerfully consider coming on a mission trip in summer 2009 (place and dates TBD) where we will do manual labor fixing up elderly poor people’s homes. This mission trip is run by Reach Workcamps, a conservative evangelical parachurch ministry. CHS has participated in 5 Reach trips, and this is a high quality organization. You or your teen will join 450 other junior and senior high kids (rising 7th-12 grades) from all over the US and sleep on the floor of a local high school. We work as a team from 8am- 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and after a shower, there is free time till dinner. Then we have an awesome evening’s program, including a slide show from that day’s work sites, a high quality drama, great contemporary worship and gospel talk, and small group discussion time.
The cost for the trip is $380. I always encourage people to raise their support like the missionaries they are rather than simply paying for it themselves, so that they can involve other people in their trip with prayer and support. We will teach them how to write letters requesting support (I have a template), and to follow up on those letters. For more info, go to www.reachwc.org, or see Pastor Clancy
For more information about how to get involved in these events please email our youth pastor or call him at the church office (703-726-0777).
