“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your heart. Impress them upon your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”  Deut6:6-9

Dear Sisters in Christ,

I would like to welcome you to the 2008-2009 CHS Women’s Ministry.  I am very excited about what the Lord has to show us this year.

When I was praying about the direction we should go for this season, God impressed upon me that we, his people, need to become “steeped” in his word.  We need to study and learn scripture as we never have before.  We need “to live” in the word.  Therefore “living in the word” will be our focus for the year.

In keeping with this theme, our first event will be a six week study led by Betsey Mulloy called “Making the Word Your Home”. Please see the enclosed brochure for details. I am very excited about this study.  As many of you know Betsey is an excellent teacher.  I am confident we will all be blessed by what we will learn. This event is open to women from other churches, so feel free in invite your friends.

Our winter event will be our Women’s Retreat.  It will be held at PriestField Pastoral Center in Kearneysville, W.VA.  February 13-15, 2009.  MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!!!!  Yes, that is Valentine weekend. That is why I am telling you now so you can make arrangements well in advance to celebrate with your family at another time. Then you will be able come and be Jesus’ valentine this year.

In the spring we will have a social event.

I look forward to serving you this year.  I ask that you pray for God’s guidance, protection and blessing for the ministry this year.  I look forward to seeing you September 17th.

Blessings,
