Our Affiliations
We are Christians first. Our primary allegiance is to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Our theological commitments are very important to us - see the
"About Us - Three Streams" page for more on that. We are
evangelical, charismatic Anglicans.
Church of the Holy Spirit is a congregation in the Anglican Communion, with about 79 million members worldwide. Church of the Holy Spirit is under the godly oversight of the Anglican Province of Uganda. Our Suffragan Bishop for American churches affiliated with Uganda is John Guernsey, who is also the Rector of All Saints, Dale City, Virginia. Our Diocesan Bishop is The Rt. Rev. Benezeri Kisembo, Bishop of the Diocese of Ruwenzori. Our Bishop-elect in Rewenzori is Patrick Kyalingonza, who will be consecrated in February, 2009. The Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Uganda is The Most Reverend Henry Luke Orombi.
Our local affiliation is with the
Anglican District of
Virginia, an association of 23 churches affiliated with overseas
jurisdictions of the Anglican Communion. We are also a part of the Network of Anglican
Communion Dioceses and Parishes. We are in the Mid-Atlantic Convocation
of the Network. We are a daughter church of
Truro Church in Fairfax City.
Church of the Holy Spirit is also a member church of the
American Anglican Council,
which seeks to uphold Biblical and orthodox standards in Anglican and
Episcopal Churches.
We are also a member church of the Loudoun Church Alliance which seeks to unite, serve, and strengthen congregations across racial and denominational boundaries in Loudoun County, VA.
